I got a tip. Change your blood color to purple or blue until you get better at finding the blood trails then change it back to red. And I don’t know the button on pc but set an exploration marker at the last blood trail you grabbed so you don’t lose it. It’s a tough game until you learn and understand it.

The reason you didn’t kill those caribou is the type of rifle, in the encyclopedia you can see different tiers for the types of animals, match the weapon tier and choose one with good range, cheaper beginning rifles will only be able to make good shots at about 100m but with something like the steyr pro 2 it can go up to 250

400hrs in WoTH... It's only crashed on me once. Never hard reset my machine. I thought KG was a hunter, so why is he surprised when an animal jumps up again when disturbed after bedding to die? Anyhow, it's easily the best hunting game on the market, but if you try and play it like CoTW you're going to have a horrible time.

im probably going to get back into this game, and would love to see more of this game from you. Pretty sure that caribou survived because you are using grandpa's old rifle thats made for small stuff like the beaver things

I love way of the hunter, as someone who owns everything Cotw has to offer, Cotw could learn a lot about ballistics, scopes, animal behavior/movement/reactions to people & vehicles, tracking, AUDIO, and more from way of the hunter.

You can track animals with no assists on Way of the hunter far more easily than trying to follow those cotw RNG blood trails, scopes don't jump 3 feet up when you shoot, you have a sneak mode to ensure you don't accidentally push the stick to far while crouched in the bush approaching your game.

The herd management is much better, realistic and more enjoyable.

Animal foot prints are tracked and modeled far better in Way of the hunter, in general I feel playing without assists is more feasible and realistic than it is in cotw due to many other QOL aspects.

Also another good tip to know is you are not required to buy the hunting passes. You can unlock them by doing missions for the land owners found at each cabin on the map you’re playing on. They can be difficult missions sometimes but pay pretty handsomely 90% of the time so it’s pretty worth it

The recoil is better on this game compared to the others. Quick scoping here is not the route you want to take. This game is way harder and more on the realistic side of hunter reality.

The reason you're only getting two credits for the pheasant is because you're damaging the meat too much. You need to use the correct rifle for the correct animal. Only reason you don't like the game is because you don't know how to play it.
