Horizontal Fence Design | Sara Bendrick

Horizontal fences are very popular right now. I have a lot of people ask me, "what type of material should I use for an application like this?" I like to use Western Red Cedar because of its versatility. Cedar is naturally insect and rot resistant which means we can leave this fence without any sealant or protector and it will remain looking great. However, sealing or painting the fence will extend the life of the fence.

Do you let the western cedar dry or season before applying stain or paint?

Here the trees are cut depending on the phase of the moon so that don't give moths.
