Dimitsana Greece Peloponnese
Dimitsana is a village in the North Peloponnese, 53 km east of Pyrgos and 31 km northwest of Tripoli. It is a beautiful, historic, preserved village, full of history and myths. It consists of an amphitheater built on two facing hills, at an altitude of 950 m, above the gorge of the Lucius river. It's a living museum of traditional architecture, with its fine stone buildings, its meandering streets, bridges, watermills, a history museum, old monasteries , a library with rare documents, gunpowder mills and a water power museum. Guests can participate in mountain sports like rafting, trekking, kayaking, hiking, mountain biking, and skiing. Natural beauty and the excellent tourist infrastructure make it a magical destination.
