WORSHIPGOD RECAP DAY 2

WorshipGod Conference Recap. DAY 2:
Session 2 on Thursday morning began with two “Songs and Stories” segments. The first was Caroline Cobb, who introduced us to three songs from her Psalms album, “The Poetry of Prayer.” Jordan Kauflin then shared three songs, one of which he sang with four of his five siblings. David Zimmer and Caleb Dirnberger then led us in song, followed by HB Charles, Jr who spoke on “Union with Christ and Our Justification.” He reminded us from Galatians 2:20 that we are truly loved by Jesus who gave his life for us. After a Chick-fil-A lunch, attendees could go to one of four seminars: Cultivating a Shepherd’s Heart (Jared Mellinger and Jon Payne), The Ideal Team Member (Bob Kauflin), How We Write Sovereign Grace Songs (various Sovereign Grace songwriters), and Keeping Sane in an Insane World (Josh Blount). In Session 3 (following a much needed coffee break), we were treated to another “Songs and Stories” with Ben Shive and Skye Peterson. Bob Kauflin gave a FOCUS talk on lyric projection, helping us think more intentionally about how we use technology, and he and Jared Torrence led us in song. Josh Blount then spoke from Colossians 3:1-4 on “Union with Christ and our Identity.” All that would have made for a pretty full day, but we weren’t done yet! Following dinner, we sang and shared the stories behind all thirteen songs from the “Knowing God” album. It was an exhilarating and exhausting day!
