People talk a lot of trash about Line 6. But when it comes to some Heavy Metal. The Line 6 does have some pretty good tones. I think the haters just don't take the time to dial it in because it is a little bit more complicated than getting your basic run-of-the-mill Marshall or Mesa Boogie head. Good job Line 6! P.s. I toured with a line 6.

I bought the Spider V 240hc and all I can say is OMG!! this thing is AWESOME!!!n
I use it with my original band, and the features it has are perfect for me a travelling working musician that writes a lot and records.
I run mine through a Mesa 4x12 and it is sublime!!
Today I dialed in my main guitar tones, three patches, one clean two dirty, and they are awesome!!
Exactly what I wanted.
Now I wont lie it took me, 30 hours of tweaking and exploring, but in the end it was a very simple matter and I found the less the better, if you dont want a digital compressed sound.
I wanted a tube driven distortion and that is what I have with this thing, it sounds amazing!!
I was skeptical but I had the IV for years I traded an acoustic guitar for it and then I modified it to use with my mesa, it was a combo amp but I made it a head, after that I dialed in a patch or two and it was great, well this sounds even better and I have on the fly total control.
Seriously if people say Line 6 sounds crappy or they cant dial in a tone, it is them, because if you actually sit down and dig into one, you will find most anyone can find a great sound with this amp.
I dont work for line 6 or get anything to say that, I had $500 and needed a new amp, I looked at everything in that price range and class and this is the top of the food chain in the $500 market, the Boss Katana is similair with 1/10 the features and available tones, same with every other 500$ amp/pre amp set up, this one has so many other features like wireless and full range speakers it was a no brainer.
If you let a bunch of tube snobs that havent actually messed with a Spider V tell you otherwise and you buy a Boss or a Vox or a Marshall, you got ripped off and left a lot of meat on the table.
You can spend a lot more and find other better alternatives, sure, but not in this class and price range.

I love tube tone, but I hate buying new tubes twice a year and dealing with all the electrical issues that can arise the heat and expense, if I can get that tone without that expense, I want it, and now I have it.

I just got this today and the versatility of this thing is top notch. I had previously a mesa triple rectifier and i was able to get an almost exact copy of its sound within hours of tweaking. Of course it wasnt as good as the triple, but i got this thing for the millions of possible sounds you can make. Line 6 gets a lot of flak for its previous stuff but you can really get some insane sounds out of it, and the head combo is great for practice.

Really good... This things amazing... Well worth the money not just the versatility but easy it's got over 200 known songs on it so say like "smells like teen spirit" and as soon as you choose it, itll program the exact recordings tone from that song with any effects to the amp and speakers has system of a down and all....
I give line 6 a 11/10 for making it

I have an inexpensive Line 6 cabinet and it sounds better than any other cab I've plugged into, including a Mesa cab

People who hate on line 6 usually only hear the sounds through YouTube videos and have never taken the time to dial in one themselves. I have owned several tube and solid state amps over the years and the line 6 is the only company that I have purchased multiple amps from. Every time they come out with an update they just keep getting better and better. For the money and flexibility of their products I just haven’t found anything that beats it. Also music is subjective so I may be wrong LOL

Bought one yesterday because I needed something to run through my Marshall 4x12; holy wow boys this is so much fun, it’s the first amp I’ve bought and didn’t immediately have remorse over!!
