🧟‍♂️ Frankenstein

Speculation is swirling around Guillermo del Toro's long-awaited adaptation of Frankenstein, with reports suggesting that Oscar Isaac and Mia Goth are set to lead the cast. The visionary director, celebrated for his stunning Gothic tales like Pan’s Labyrinth and Crimson Peak, has been vocal about his passion for Mary Shelley’s iconic novel. Now, it seems his dream project is finally taking shape.

Oscar Isaac, known for his transformative performances in films like Ex Machina and Dune, is rumored to play the Creature. Del Toro’s adaptation is said to focus heavily on the Creature’s tragic journey, delving into themes of loneliness, rejection, and humanity’s darker impulses. Isaac’s ability to balance raw emotion with physical intensity makes him an inspired choice for the role, promising a portrayal that is as heart-wrenching as it is terrifying.

Mia Goth, one of the rising stars of modern horror, is reportedly set to play Elizabeth Lavenza, Victor Frankenstein’s fiancée. Known for her standout roles in Pearl and Infinity Pool, Goth’s presence in the cast signals del Toro’s intent to infuse the story with deeply layered characters. Elizabeth’s role is rumored to be expanded in this adaptation, highlighting her emotional depth and exploring the collateral damage of Victor’s hubris.

I love how there’s literally no emotion in any characters voice.

Voice of Frankenstein’s Monster is terribly wrong. Sounds like some angsty teenager. That’s also not how I would picture it looking at all. Is this to attract younger female audiences?

I love Oscar and Mia both so I would give it a chance. And Guillermo del Toro!

Just stick to the 1930s black and white Frankenstein featuring Boris Karloff you won't go wrong with that one

Headline: Pretty boy becomes a monster from three scars on his face”….
I love Guillermo del Toro, Christopher Waltz, and Oscar Isaac, but I’m curious to see Del Toros version of Frankenstein.

I think they should have followed two other Frankenstrin films that had basically an unknown actor play the monster, as Karloff in 1931 and Christopher Lee in 1957's Curse of Frankfnstein. The actor in this new one might be good in some roles, but as Frankrnstein's monster I don't think so.
