I feel like what a lot of these r/vexillology guys don’t understand is that a flag is supposed to represent a country. Like the dragon in Bhutans flag is a symbol of their culture.

I once saw someone say that the clean design rule should mean no more than one or two additional design elements, having one dragon looks perfectly fine but then you have a dragon a tiger and a tree in the middle or something that’s just a crest and looks ugly.

fun fact: ive been developing a game about the Titanic's Sister Ship "Britannic" and because it was a hospital ship it used large red crosses on its hull. I should 100% be allowed to color them the way they were, because they were a part of the ship itself. I shouldn't have to make the ship model worse with some orange color for the crosses in order to comply with some stupid rule that doesn't actually do much

I have a cool Oregon flag tri-color redesign concept,
A bright blue (not cyan) on the top, a white middle, and darkish green bottom, a darker green tree in the middle (the design of the tree would be the same as its license plate), and on the other side the same design as the front but with a beaver icon in the middle of the tree (abit like the current Oregon flags back)

Not only would it be different then the other flags, but would also kinda resemble the Cascadian flag
