Here is Benny Greb paying tribute to Vinnie Colaiuta with a cover of his 1994 release „I’m Tweeked“.
Vinnie’s original version amazed drummers worldwide with its 16th note shift in the drum part while the music stays. Not only did Benny interpret the song in his own special way, but he also sang all the instrumental parts himself and arranged it as an a-cappella version (just like all other songs on his new album GREBFRUIT2 as well). This track is something special and will go down in drumming history. Enjoy this epic cover.

The most impressive thing about this performance is the consistency of the left foot hi hat. Through the groove displacement as well as the solo, it never falters. Benny is a beast.

Man, what a good idea. I often complain to myself (or find excuses within myself) not to write more music because I don't play a pitched instrument proficiently enough. I have a great ear, degree in music, but then I say "hey I need someone else to write a track I can play on." Now, listening to Benny's originals and this cover (I was working at the MD festival when Vinnie performed this live, so it's always been a favorite), I'm just reminded, where there is a will, there is definitely a way.
