Here's something I discovered. If you go into a store and wait until it's late at night when the store should be closed, you can steal ANYTHING off the shelves without getting caught. I stole multiple horses and wagons off the shelves of the Daggerfall general store

I do actually like that sneak isn’t determined by line of sight in this game. Like you can imagine someone “noticing” you’ve gone up to their room, rather than just being able to put a basket on their head and do whatever you want.

The guards materializing out of oblivion is still hilarious though lol

One of my favorite moments was after I finished fighting bandits in daggerfall, in broad daylight, with no guards in sight.

I guess attacking people in the streets isn't as illegal as I thought. Then, the very second I dare to sleep and restore health...
