basically we go up we go nearer to 0 therefore we are deaccelerating, but we are deaccerleration to what opposing acceleration? the g! therefore we can write our acceleration as NEGATIVE g as we oppose it, in simpler terms whenever we decide negative or positive signs we take the POSITIVE vector as the main direction and if we are opposing that then our vector is well, NEGATIVE! thanks!
