Maxpedition Colossus EDC

If you saw my video of my Zombie EDC, you heard that I wasn't thrilled with it. So I dusted off my Maxpedition Colossus which I wasn't too thrilled about when I first got it. It seems that my mind has been changed tough. I would appreciate any comments or criticisms. Thanks.

Colossus is more for camera equipment (well padded, boxy, and plenty of MOLLE for waistpack attachements). I think you want a Maxpedition Mongo. It can carry those huge pads...even a laptop. It's more narrow than the Colossus but less internal organization. But with the new Max mini-organizer hook and loop attachment and the EDC Organizer, you can easily make the Mongo work. (I also use the Spec Op Wallet. It's huge but a great organizer to toss into the Mongo). Nice review. Cheers!!!

If you want a perfect messenger carryon bag, seek out the maxpedition larkspur, which I have and they no longer make. It will fit you magazines and any sized laptop. It has two great features: a zipper ON THE FLAP to access the inside main compartment WITHOUT having to flip open the cover flap. This is great while on the airplane when you have zero room to maneuver any decent sized bag. The other great feature is the back flap that allows you to securely attach it to the handle of a rolling bag. This comes in handy. Only negative is the two useless knife pouches on the ends. This is not a tactical bag (no mal or palls webbing). It is designed for travel. You cannot take a knife on the plane. A water bottle holder would be better suited. Lots of Velcro inside where I attach other smaller maxpedition bags that hold my other stuff

I had a Mongo, but it turns out I am not a fan of the messenger style flap. I hated that I had to lift that to get into the other compartments. The size was really good. I wish Maxpedition would come out with a hybrid of the two bags.

Awesome bag. I hope UTG or one of the other companies makes a clone so I can afford it lol. That bag would also be a good tool bag if you wanted to go all out. Cigar smokers unite. Can this bag hold a 10" tablet or netbook. Good review. Thanks.

The padding is probably my biggest issue with this bag. I bought one as my first bag and just don't undersstand the purpose for the padding.
