Melting Greenland (Environmental Documentary) [Original Version]

On August 14, 2021, unprecedented rain fell for the first time in recorded history at Greenland’s ice sheet summit, dumping 7 billion tons of water, which is enough to generate hydropower. A study by NASA revealed that Greenland’s ice is melting on average seven times faster than it was at the beginning of the study period. Climate change is inevitable. Led by O'right CEO Steven Ko, the team visited 11 towns to conduct in-depth interviews with experts, scholars, government officials, and local residents from all walks of life by reporters. The documentary reveals how climate change has affected Greenland’s society, economy and livelihood. When it comes to fighting climate change, we are all in this together. We hope that this documentary can resonate with society and galvanize public awareness on the worsening climate crisis and empower people through environmental education to drive change and transition to a sustainable society.

I would have watched this whole documentary but when I realised that the intro music was on loop continuously I could not stay focused on the dialogue.

the background music is annoying and very intrusive this is very bad choice ruining what the speakers have to say

The actual Danish meteorological society finds no NET loss, just average fluctuations.
It may have even increased slightly.
But fear porn sells articles.

To be honest, the message of this film is quite clear. When it comes to the data in Earth sciences, there is no absolute standard figure. What matters is the trends, relative values, the rate of change, and people's inner thoughts.
I sincerely appreciate everyone who was willing to speak out their thoughts and personal observations.
While our individual capacity for change may be limited, when we come together, it becomes a force to be reckoned with. Once again, thank you to all of you, the filming team, and those who participated in the interviews.

The music is too much. Understandable for intro but it continues and over powers this information. Thank you for the video but difficult to watch and listen to the speakers.

When C02 has reached 350ppm it had already passed the 'climate baton' to methane (CH4), one molecule of which is equivalent to about 25 of CO2 making it far more volatile as a greenhouse gas. This is why the Arctic has been warming faster than any other region as release of CH4 increases not only from melting permafrost but also from methane hydrates on the ocean floor. If every carbon emission was stopped, the feedback loop is already way beyond stopping and CH4 will continue to be released. It was too late about ten years ago. The planets changes are way beyond human ability to change. Research the 12, 000 year cycle.

I have it on good authority that the Arctic will be completely free of ice by 2013. Um, wait.

Ice breakers are keeping big patches of water open that is messing with the ice coverage and its ability to stay solid and create a fresh water salt water layer that drives the cold water south which is the ocean current best suited for life

Jason Boc did. His team had the first raingage in the top of the ice sheet. It got some rain. They have added more raingages after that event.

Greenland was ice free in the past and it’s going to be ice free again. It will have beautiful forests warm sandy beaches. Palm trees. It will be like your in hawaii. The tropics are coming to Greenland. Can’t wait

Are there world prepared for 7 meters higher level ? Man, the ocean level will take to rise 7 meters in several thousands years at least.

Another 'could have been great' documentary if it wasn't for the standard idiot editor slapping on meaningless music!

SERIOUSLY, a documentary is mean't to convey information in a clear way, music is 100% redundant and irrelevant.

The melting will reverse economic growth and delete my town within 100yrs. Sad and alarming.

The actual scientific facts are the the ice in Greenland is not melting any faster now than it was eighty years ago. The melting goes up and down in irregular cycles and is now starting to trend downward again. This all started 20, 000 years ago when all ice started to melt as we came out of the last glacial maximum during the end of the ice age (sea level rose over 400 feet - 130 meters) and has been slowly decreasing. Sea level rise has been at about 3 mm per year for about 200 years and shows no acceleration/increase due to CO2 emissions. During the last interglacial warm period 100, 000 years ago (we are in an interglacial period now between ice ages) most of Greenland's Glaciers we gone (Southern two thirds melted). Thanks

Increasing sea sponge populations may help with the rising sea level issue, more Spongebobs to the rescue.
