BTR#21 1968 Fender Twin Reverb 'Drip Edge' Silverface

Показать описание
the “Blackface” Fender Twin Reverb is widely popular for being a reliable hi-end powerful amplifier that suits the needs of many jazz, country, blues and rock guitar players.
In mid-1967 the Fender Twin Reverb underwent a cosmetic restyling and was given the “silverface” or silver panel look that would become a trademark of the following decade.
A few months after the new cosmetics were introduced, some changes were also made under the hood.
The early Fender silverface amplifiers made between mid-1967 and mid-1969 had an aluminium trim or thin frame surrounding the speaker grill cloth edges, they are usually nicknamed "drip edge" models. The transitional features of these amplifiers deserve some investigation!

I just got the sweetest deal on the planet for a 68 Custom Fender Twin reissue. $465 off Facebook Marketplace. The guy was needing money and we made the deal.
My buddy said "Oh I've heard a Fender Twin before". Until he heard this one. With my $50 pawn shop find Squire strat, it just SINGS!

Wow! That is an old, or repro, phone! The numbers are inside the finger holes, which was discontinued because with use the numbers wore away.
The numbers then appeared outside of the finger holes.

I just got lucky this past weekend at a farm auction and bought a black line- drip edge along with a Fender PS 160 vocal amp and vintage RCA type 77-DX microphone.

But what about all the forum guys that will cry about the "brown turd" caps...LOL These are in all the coveted drip edge and early 70's amps and sound just fine. But unfortunately many replace with "tone sucking" orange drop caps cuz they follow the other sheep on the forums.
I have a 73 DR with brown and blue blobs and it sounds great. Also a 70 Champ with brown blobs and it sounds great. I've had others too. I just want to be clear that these are fine componants. Thank you and goodnight!

I just converted my 73 to AC568. Loving it so far. I actually like the fact it has slightly less headroom and I like the chime. Instant Keef. Liking it more than AB763!

I prefer the Sure SM57, and after many amps the last 60 years I own three 1978 Fender Twin Reverbs. Using only one, with one as a back up and if one goes into the shop, I still have a back up. I use an ADA preamp in front of the twins, and if I want to go above 1 and a half, nobody likes me. But it is awesome. You can hear my guitars going through my rig and using an SM57at'; YouTube, Joe Logsdon & Company.

Did you notice a difference in tone when you changed it from AC568 to the AB763?

Bellissimo video e grande tono la LP con i soap bar e il Twin. Ma toglimi una curiosità, stavi usando un pedale? perché si vede che il volume è a 3 mentre il suono è bello saturato e comunque perfettamente definito.

Did you change to blue caps? How does the amp sound now? Can you tell the difference? Does it sound more Fenderey? Was it worth it to make the changes?
