It went from a dollar + taxes store to a 1.25 + taxes store.

That's one of the things that threw me off, both times I've been to the US. I'm so used to the price already being included when I go to pay for things here, so to get to the till and the price being higher than I initially thought always made me feel like I'd been scammed😅

Sales tax is a state thing. Some states don’t have sales tax at all. Although it’s very rare. I think only 1 or 2 states at the moment don’t ask for sales tax

It's a $1.06 in Pennsylvania. I know they get ya with the tax.

unless you come to delaware, delaware doesn’t charge taxes in stores so it really is a Dollar store ( unless u go to the dollar general dollar tree is only a dollar)

My local dollar tree added a $5 area and the chips/candy are all $1.25 so now I have to drive 30 minutes to get to the good one
