SHTF is already here for me in general.
I've stopped caring for others, which includes certain family members as well.
Most neighbors in my area are useless eaters, they depend on government.
Most have no skill sets .
I rely on my self for the most part .
I try to learn as many skill sets as possible.
Trying to meet with like minded people which has been hard for over 30 years.
Most of humanity is lost, have not much hope these days .
Live & survive another day .
We are living in the End of Days , nothing is normal anymore.
Survival of the fittest & the smartest .

Now living Post- 2020 I don't think that there are many souls in Earth that cannot relate to the struggles we had. Everyone has a story of either their health or financial or both drama. This is often my opening point when addressing possible future events. "What if that type of thing happened again ? What if it was even worse ? " or " Wasnt that crazy that you couldn't go to work, unless your job was essential and you had to take a daily test to prove that you were clear of the cough-cough ? " . It often helps open up the conversation.

if the $100 bill aint toilet tissue, it's not shtf. If its anything else, all you need is a canteen or 2 of water, a mountain bicycle, some cash, maybe an MRE and you can pedal your way out of the problem in one night (ie, 100 miles if you are fit). all of these other preps are pointless unless it's mad max time.

SHTF is like consciousness. Everyone knows what it is, but no one can really define it and certainly not have figured it out.

To me, SHTF is a disruption in lifestyle for _massive_ amounts of people that:
A.) makes people fail or severely struggle to maintain the basics of Western World life (probably the life for most people on this channel)
B.) cannot be remedied/escaped without extreme measures unavailable for most (e.g. moving to Switzerland with $5 million)
C.) seems/has been long term with no clear end

I’m too young to have lived during The American Civil War or The Great Depression, but if the movies/TV shows have any truth in their fiction, those were either SHTF or very close to it. If you lived in the wrong part of Ukraine recently, especially as a male, that’s close to being SHTF, or is.

Like I wrote, that’s just my criteria.
