Honestly, I feel like Peter’s can totally loop with the hedgehog peacefully closing its eyes and dreaming about the night the farmer found him in the rain.

I think one thing wren missed is that people kept watching not only because they didn't realise it was a loop, but because they wanted to see the flat surface after all the puzzle pieces have fallen in. Watching that puzzle piece render gives you an 'edging' kind of feeling, it perpetually feels so close to being complete and satisfying.

After seeing Peter's I think they should see who can make the most emotional renders. Really tug at the heartstrings.

In my opinion, the thing that makes Wren's viral satisfying render work is specifically the sound design combined with the physics of the puzzle pieces sliding into the holes that are perfectly machined to slide in with just the right amount of resistance that alerts your subconscious that the two pieces are perfect fits. I don't intend to be negative, but i kinda feel like a lot of these renders are missing that element and instead are going for the loop and complexity and fantastical-ness. I think Fenner's pool render actually is the one that gets closest to the nuts and bolts of what makes Wren's puzzle render successful, but it doesn't reach it because pool balls going into giant holes doesn't scratch that same itch of machined objects with perfect fit. Jordan's render is more akin to Wren's viral render in terms of it depicting machinery, but i think it misses because it went for complexity of the machinery, which distracts from the precision of the pieces moving together partly due to having to be zoomed out to a wide shot to see all the machinery. Which causes you to lose the details of the perfect fit machinery happening that you need to see in a closer shot. And Peter's render, while visually fantastic and as well as being emotive... It literally has nothing to do with this specific challenge outside of the farmer character sliding the house roof on. I get you can say it's emotionally satisfying and give a pass on that technicality, but come on, we know what this challenge is actually supposed to be about lol.

When i was studying Animation, 1 project we had which was fun. Everyone in the Class was given the Same 10 second Audio Clip of noises/sound fx, and everyone had to make a scene that fit the audio. Everyones was different and unique, it was quite interesting to see what people did to weird sounds. Think you guys should do the same. Same Audio clip, you all have to Create a scene/animation that fits to it

also Peter: <wins>

I found the three elements of building the house was very satisfying…the one hammer hit completely sinking the nail, that is extremely difficult to do in real life, then one stroke of the brush perfectly covering one board with paint was satisfying, and finally the roof sliding on perfectly. As a amateur carpenter who has made a dog house and many other home projects, this was amazingly satisfying…to create something that helps someone you love, that’s amazing! Standing ovation. ❤

Corridor once again proving that they are amazing VFX artists who struggle to understand what a satisfying render is lol

Man, Peters animation would have been perfection if only as the Hedgehog closed his eyes at the end, thunder strikes and he wakes up back outside, creating the loop to begin the animation once again.

The satisfaction of seeing Peter finally finish his animation after two years makes up for the fact that he broke the rules of the challenge.

If you were to somehow combine Jordan’s and Wren’s… it would be perfect. Wren’s concept with Jordan’s immaculate colour design and textures. Also, here’s a theme I’ve been wanting you guys to do for a while: satisfying Rube Goldberg machines!

It would be cool if you guys did a “most realistic render” challenge where you make something as photo-real as possible. Another cool idea would be to do a practical effects challenge. I feel like in react you talk about practical stuff frequently and it would be a sweet exercise to try and make something yourself. Maybe in teams of 3 or something similar

I think Peter should remake this every year so we can see his progress.

It would be sweet to see a “Remastered” Challenge, where you guys take super old projects of yours and make them better with all your new knowledge since then

what makes a good satisfying video is the anticipation and suspense, Peter completing an old project meant it had months of anticipation built up behind it, and the fact that it's finally complete makes it the most satisfying of all.

Simplicity is key to satisfaction. Find something simple and perfect it, instead of spreading your time between different parts of a render.
This is why the puzzle piece was so magnificent. So simple, so satisfying. Jordan's render was too complicated.

As realistic as possible cryptid / UFO render challenge, let's go! The goal is for the other crew members not to be able to debunk it.

Jordan was such a good hire for the crew. Man has great banter!

Satisfying simplicity: soft/pastel colors, symmetry, simple sounds, simple environment and simple looping (as I have come to observe) are keys for satisfaction.

I really loved the pool shot one, I think if it was rendered with more vibrant colors it would go TikTok viral
