As of 2019, there are urine-free FDA-approved bioidentical hormones that skirt the standardization concerns of compounded preparations. Are they any safer?

I recently produced a bunch of videos on menopause symptoms. Check out:

Thanks for watching. I hope you’ll join in the evidence-based nutrition revolution!

This video isn't about menopause or hot flashes. That is why he didn't go into all menopause symptoms. His response about hot flashes was just to the response about drinking cool water specifically. This video is about hrt safety. It's clearly just a snippet of information otherwise it would be 3 hours long. He's giving people information so they can do more research themselves and discuss the best options for them with their doctor.

During menopause, all internal temperature sense is disrupted. Drinking cold water gives you shivers almost instantly.

Hot flashes are not just uncomfortable. I could never tell whether I had a fever without a thermometer. At 25, I could tell you my temperature to the closest 0.2 degree without one.

How do you treat age-related things like bone loss, skin laxity and hair loss, all which accompany lack of estrogen. That's the reason I wear a patch and will continue to do so.

BHR was a lifesaver for me. I was on them for 5 years and it got me through menopause and my quality of life improved dramatically. I was a basket case before I got on them. Mentally and physically. I used the Wiley Protocol which are creams applied to the skin and the system is made to mimic your natural hormone fluctuations over the month. So not static dosing. I'm on a plant based diet and I exercise and manage my weight. So I am a health conscious person. But while some people can sail through menopause for others it's a nightmare. Drinking cold water during a hot flash is not sufficient for managing the many symptoms you can have. I am thankful that I had an option.

Dr Gregor
Please read Estrogen Matters. I value your opinion about everything. Thanks for your work. At this moment I disagree with you on this though and would love to hear you your thoughts on the estrogen matters book. (Updated version coming next month I hear.)

I'm way past symptoms of menopause, but am very interested in learning about BHRT for improving bone density.

I would find it helpful if Dr. Greger spoke about the flaws in the Women's Health Initiative study, and specifically the use of estrogen only for menopause for those of us without a uterus. :)

What about HRT for heart and brain health?

Nothing about routes of administration? Effects on liver and clotting factors differs massively between enteral and parenteral ROAs.

Also I'll take some breast cancer risk over osteoporosis, rapid skin aging, and hair loss. It's a personal choice, but it's a clear one for me.

Hot flashes is not the only symptom for menopause. I don't have hot flashes, yet vaginal atrophy, itching, hair loss are things I experience right now with menopause. Where are the studies about the whole picture?

Are hot flashes the main symptom women are concerned with? Would women benefit from a video focused on menopause and its effect on mental health? What about the physical effects like loss in bone density and muscle mass? Is there no argument in favour of HRT or is the risk to reward ratio just too hight?

While I do believe the part about increased risks like cancer, there are many reasons to take hrt. Such bone loss, strength, and mental health. Im sure there are benefits too. From an evolutionary standpoint there is no reason to live past the age you can reproduce, so what the body does naturally after that point is not necessarily the best for your overall health.

I am so disappointed that this channel is treating menopause as just hot flashes. Your research is not up to date if you are still using that old, flawed study as your guide.

How about for women who have had their ovaries removed therapeutically?
