"There are indeed the places where the Ukrainians are attacking in some areas now as well. So it's not inconceivable that you would see up to a battalions worth of casualties over a 48 hour period."

Renewed offensive maneuvers in Kursk will create issues for Putin as Russia struggles with "unsustainable" troop losses and recruitment problems, George Barros from @UnderstandingWarOrg tells Frontline.

Times Radio I had a strange feeling that something good was going to happen today. It did with the always spot on Times Radio host James Hanson interviewing as always the very knowledgeable Mr. George Barros from the Institute for the Study of War and thank you.

Ukraine has learned so much about actual peer to peer drone warfare the fact is that we in the west now need them in NATO and we need to rapidly update our military capabilities for what is an entirely new form of warfare

Great reporting George baros always gives a balanced view on the war and always frustrated with the e jack of support as he can see on the ground if Ukraine were given proper weapons they could turn the war in the favour

George is one of the most incisive commentators on the Ukraine war. His grasp of the military details and their political ramifications is second to none!

I am Russian, live Tblisi but from Samara. Many in Russia know the war to be losed. It is never-end now, inflations become very bad. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Before the Russian invasion of Ukraine, it was believed, that Russia had the 2nd strongest army in the world. After the Russian invasion of Ukraine, it became apparent that Russia had the 2nd strongest army in Ukraine. Now, after the Ukrainian “Special Military Operation”in Kursk, it is apparent that Russia has the 2nd strongest army in Russia.

Russia must know Ukraine is setting a trap and they will know that and still go into trap.

I look forward to the analysis from George. Maybe this report is just a little too soon as there are still many unknowns. As this so close to Trump inauguration I wonder if they plan to take the nuclear plant as a trade for their own in Zaphorezia ?

Thanks James and George, another fascinating, incisive and in depth analysis of the current situation in Ukraine, I could listen to you guys all day! You show how so much of the other commentary in the media is froth and bubbles with no substance to it.

Of all the commentators Mr Barras is the best in so many ways.

It isn't just conscription . Russia doesn't have the industrial or technological capacity to build large weapons like vehicles, artillery, planes, or ships . Conscription means nothing if they don't have weapons to arm them .
