"dewatering" seems to be the latest thing with generator fuel. We've got a big 500kVA at work and the cost of dewatering the tank is pretty much the same as the cost of refilling the thing. We offered to just run the damned tank down for a day then refuel it but oh no, let's spaff the money on a hiring a fella with a magic diesel dialysis thing.

Over at Finland the red wire used to be earth for some odd reason before 70's. Good to see some finnish Kempower being installed, would like to see some criticism about it

I tried not to make any funny comments but.... I don't remember where I heard it but it doesn't matter. I figured out how to distinguish brown and blue simply by blue being cold and brown being the color of your pants if you touch it. That was very helpful is lice now every time I encounter European colored wires all once a year.

Holy shit - you’re in my old ambulance station 😂

I’d recognise those massive blue doors anywhere. Very ambulance!

28:18 Maxus is the SAIC branding for vans and light trucks, having bought out the LDV brand. The same firm that owns the MG car brand that are proving to be pretty reliable and well equipped (from my 2+ years experience of an MG5)

Tom switched from residential to highway and then does primarily industrial. At least he released more than three videos this year. I'm trying to remember if it was Tom who didn't like the guys running around London on scooters, but after watching him take the train, it makes more sense to bust around on a scooter for quick jobs. You just can't bring along the microwave and kitchen sink.

Diesel doesn't go off. We have generators that still have old red diesel in their tanks.

Diesel doesn't go off but moisture/water in the tank with Diesel can lead to bacteria that eats the Diesel.

B7 diesel tends so get growth in it but I doesn’t go bad. For cases where it has to be stored for long periods of time you should use B0.

There's a theory that you should keep outdoor diesel tanks topped off to prevent water accumulation from condensation. As far as "going off" is concerned, there's "diesel bug" which I think is some sort of microbes that grow in the diesel, and I believe that's the main problem. There are biocide additives which can deal with that, and you should also take periodic fuel samples to check the condition. If the fuel looks like it's going bad, it can be restored by "polishing" (running it through filters to clear out the growths), and companies who will come out to do that for you.

Completely correct about us importing everything. Really wish we could be a manufacturing country again
