Got shivers down my spine and watery eyes listening to this song by the fabulous John Denver. My God what a voice he had, and what a tragic end to this brilliant singers life. Loved the Cousteau programmes when I was younger as well, two legends now gone and greatly missed . God bless them both.

As a child I idolized that man.
He taught me the beauty and poetry of the sea.
Johm Denver's song about Cousteau has always given me chills.
My deepest gratitude to them both.

Jacques Cousteau was a unique person and a true pioneer of the ocean. You will never be forgotten along with your wonderful team of explorers.

This song is a reminder for us all of the legacy this man left us.

As a child I wanted to be on the ship with Cousteau, see all the magic of the ocean and its most beautiful creatures. Such a great man and environmentalist

I always wanted to sail on Calypso. She was majestic and at the same time practical. It broke my heart when I heard about her inelegant demise. There will never be another like her. And never another Jacques Cousteau. My husband and I watched all the Cousteau specials. Thanks for this beautiful tribute to an iconic ship, and an iconic man.

Love this so much and used to really enjoy the trips on Calypso on TV with Jacques Cousteau and his men it was the first thing I saw that showed so much of what we were missing under the water, without all of the stuff we now take for granted. encourages a deep love of the ocean and all it contained then. So much has been damaged and destroyed by humans many fish extinct and reefs destroyed Jacques Cousteau would be devastated along with John Denver who spent time with Jacques on Calypso. I know I am💔😪 Thanks to John Denver who composed this beautiful song that when I sing along with him I can picture the beauty of the ship and the wonderful crew and all that encapsulated. The films with this were lovely to see again too. Thanks so much for sharing💖
