Chaotic One-Two Passing Competition | Soccer Coaching Drill

Activity Flow:
1. Place one player on each cone, the remaining players of each team stand behind the starting cone
2. Both teams start at the same time on the coach's command
3. The first player plays the ball to player 2, who drops the ball and moves around the cone
4. Player 1 passes the ball into the run to player 2
5. Player 2 passes the ball to player 3, who drops the ball and moves around the cone
6. Player 2 plays the ball into the run to player 3
7. Player 3 passes the ball to player 4, who drops the ball and moves around the cone
8. Player 3 passes the ball into the run to player 4
9. Player 4 receives the ball and passes the ball as fast as possible into the mini goal
10. Each player runs to the next cone
11. After that the action starts again

Organization:
1. Divide the players into two teams - One team consists of at least 4 players
2. 8 cones - Two colors, 4 cones per color
3. 2 mini goals
4. Required space approx. 20x25m
5. Set up as in the image or in the video

Coaching Points:
1. Technique
- Type of pass - With the inside of the foot to ensure accuracy
- Speed of the pass - slower to allow the teammate to play the ball with the first touch

2. Competition
- Referee - Coach should only act as referee - no interruption for explanations, only rule monitoring
- Observe - coach should observe, How do players act under pressure? Does technical quality/execution change? Do mistakes accumulate?
- Simulation - Why should a coach include competition? Competition as a realistic simulation of the game, two players or two teams play against each other with the objective of picking a winner and a loser

Variations:

1. Limitation of touches before the pass into the mini-goal (max. 2 touches or directly after the one-two)
2. Competition: Who manages to score more goals?
3. Competition: After an action is finished, both teams start again on the coach's command - Only the team that has completed the passing pattern quicker than the other can score points
