IRANIAN: PERSIAN & SOUTHERN ZAZAKI

Показать описание
Welcome to my channel! This is Andy from I love languages. Let's learn different languages/dialects together.
Persian, also known as Farsi in Iran, is a major language of the Iranian branch of the Indo-Iranian language family. It serves as the official language of Iran and has official status in Afghanistan (as Dari) and Tajikistan (as Tajik). Persian has a rich literary history dating back over a millennium, with renowned poets such as Hafez, Rumi, and Ferdowsi contributing to its legacy. Written in the Persian script, a modified version of the Arabic script, it is spoken by over 80 million native speakers and is known for its influence on neighboring languages and cultures in Central Asia and the Indian subcontinent. Persian's vocabulary and grammar have remained relatively stable over centuries, allowing modern speakers to understand classic Persian literature with relative ease.
Zazaki, also known as Zaza, is an Indo-Iranian language belonging to the Northwestern Iranian language group. It is primarily spoken by the Zaza people in eastern Turkey, in areas such as Tunceli, Bingöl, Elazığ, and surrounding provinces. Zazaki has a rich oral tradition, with distinct dialects that vary by region, primarily categorized into Northern, Central, and Southern dialects. Although Zazaki is closely related to other Northwestern Iranian languages like Kurdish, it is linguistically distinct, with unique phonetic, grammatical, and lexical characteristics. For much of its history, Zazaki has been an oral language, though recent years have seen a growing body of written literature and media in Zazaki, despite pressures from language shift and assimilation.
This video is created for educational, language awareness, and language preservation purposes. It aims to provide valuable insights and knowledge to viewers, enhancing their understanding and appreciation of different languages and their unique characteristics. By raising awareness about linguistic diversity, the video seeks to foster a greater respect and recognition for various languages, particularly those that are endangered or underrepresented. Additionally, it contributes to the preservation of languages by documenting and sharing linguistic knowledge, thus ensuring that these languages and their cultural heritage are not lost to future generations.
