What a bowling action, high arm action. Treat to watch. The best south Africa fast bowler.

Donald is a true species in fast bowlers . He never depended on the wind for swing, never depended on the pitch for any support.
He could ball on any pitch, in any conditions. Pace was his only weapon.

Look at the respect and care from Jonty to Lara. That is great sportsmanship. True Gentlemen of the game.

One of the great bowling action, the perfect seam position until it reaches to wicket keeper. He still facinates me as he did in my childhood❤❤

Look at Allan Donald's action. It's different from what his action became in the later stages of his career. Talking specifically about the way he runs up to the crease. This must be a young Allan Donald .

This action of Allan Donald was more side chested, thereby generates more torque. Naturally there is increased pace.

The height of the jump was also relatively lesser but he covers more distance and makes better use of the crease.

This is one of the faster spells that Donald ever bowled

The most beautiful bowling action after Wasim Akram, i used to imitate his bowling action, Allan Donald a Legend of the Game 😂😂😂

Fantastic, rare video. I thought Lara handled the surprise bouncer by Donald beautifully, given that the bouncer clearly surprised Lara (bouncers were very rare in ODI cricket in that era).

The times when ICC didn't have a budget for 2 cameras

This was Donald's earlier action (88-93) where he had a longer pause in his gather and was like a coiled spring, at his very fastest. Funny enough, he never used this action again and sacrificed a yard of pace for greater accuracy and ability to bowl long spells required for tests as the spearhead. In 1989 he was timed at 158 against the touring English.

Jonty had no qualms with checking to see if Lara was ok. Good sport!

That was rapid...gotta be around 100mph for sure. Even looked express on slow-mo. Donald in his younger days may have been the fastest ever. This was every bit as quick as Akhtar or Lee and this was even after he shortened his run up and wasn't as wild anymore. 😳

Allan Donald was the only baller in the world who could ball at Sanath Jayasooriya’s legs and beat him with shear speed and accuracy ❤
