Vanguard to Ascensus Solo 401(k) Transfer is Done!

The Vanguard to Ascensus Solo 401(k) transfer is complete. Now it's time to update beneficiary designation forms and make sure Roth 401(k) basis is captured.

This transition has not been done well. I cannot make contributions and there is no one who has been able to help me navigate the site when I call in. The customer service is lacking. I am self employed and the customer service rep doesn't seem to understand that I need to make contributions as both an employee and employer. I am losing opportunities to invest while the market is down.

Ascensus is an absolute disaster. Moving my Solo 401K to Schwab. Hopefully they can help me do that.

I created username and password but it won’t let me log in - I called today and they said computers are down I just tried again and still can’t log in and when I ask to resend username to make sure I used correct one, to my email, I get nothing.

I don't see how to actually buy funds on their website. I can go in and change a percentage to go on Roth 401k or traditional 401k, but percentage of what? I don't get paychecks since I'm self-employed. I just need to make one time payments several times a year. Not impressed.

Ascensus is absolute garbage. I can't even find out how much of each fund I have in my Roth 401k compared to my Traditional 401k. It only gives a high level percent of total account by fund and percent of total account that is Roth. Changing to Schwab since Fidelity won't be able to do Roth 401k until sometime in 2026.

I have not even gotten an email yet about the transfer from Ascensus
