thats one thing I always wondered about, both water and earth benders can make a physical substance float even ones that weigh substantial amounts, so making something like a floating platform for them to stand on sound doable

I feel all elements at the end of their mastery they just say now you have to learn to fly. What's crazy is that air benders used to have it as default but became attached when they met the sky bison.

Didn't that one ice bender guy, the one that said she isn't allowed to fight, do the samething? When they sparred in the north pole, and she lost. Its the same technique, with a very, VERY slight difference. He used it to loop around her and trap her in the ice shards.
