With 167 deaths from COVID-19 in B.C., it’s easy to get lost in the numbers. We’ve heard from families of the deceased who want everyone to remember that their loved ones are people, not just statistics. Raghbir Dosanjh was one of those people.

I don’t understand why people feel the need to take time out of their day and comment negative things on a video honouring my grandfather. No one got paid, this story isn’t a lie. My dad and aunt got to share my grandfathers story as a memorial and also show people what his death did to our family. People say it’s “not a big deal” and I get that it might not be a big deal to you but if an elder or someone with a weak immune system gets it their chances are slim. My grandfather was a healthy person with no conditions who unfortunately tested positive with covid. Not only is loving a love one absolutely heart breaking but being quarantined throughout it and not be able to grieve with family, friends or have a proper funeral for him is even worse. Please have some respect for my grandfather and our family.

The man, the family, that final picture. A picture of a proud hard working Canadian with a loving family. My condolences go out to his family. Although impossible, try not to mourn his death, celebrate his life, cheers.

Punjabi immigrants are mostly from the Sikh religion. They work hard, invest in business, love the country they live in and love community.
They are Not like people who follow ISLAM. They are total opposite.

Not sure if he was special from other covid victims. He lived a lifetime in Canada. Got free health care. There are risks to free health care like quality of care . But that effects all Canadians. Unless his death wants to change the health care system in Canada. Had he paid for a better health care system by private care if it existed in Canada alongside public? Or be treated south of border. Healthcare will only get worse unless deaths like these has any effect in reforming them.

Thousands die yearly from fue, This is a positive story in that these people were able to visit before he passed; but I do not see the point of the post. We "all Canadians" have a story of making a new and better life here. My Grandmother from Northern Ireland lived in terrible poverty with 14 living in a one room house with only a fire in the middle of the earth floor with an iron pot for cooking that provided some warmth. We all have a story being Canadian.
