Secondly, I am one of those people who have hidden psychic abilities from friends and family because of their perceptions of mental illness and not understanding. It is only now as a middle-aged person I feel safe enough to start coming out and talking about this. It is sad to have your gift stigmitized.

I once woke up in the middle of the night and there was a being in the room. I couldnt move my body, but it wasnt anything like sleep paralysis (I have had a lot of those so I know very well how they feel).
I heard clearly in my head a voice very lovingly saying "oh, you are not supposed to be awake now". Then I went back to sleep.
I think it was telepathy. It was just like you imagine it would be. A clear voice inside your head.

I'm so glad you mentioned about mental illness not being same thing as psychic abilities I once went for an aura reading and before I sat down I felt something wasn't right. During the drawing she kept saying "I can detect lots of mental illness." I didn't flinch so she kept repeating it, at least 3 times during the reading. My aura has three shades of purple, several other people have said this. She also said my colours are pure which apparently is unusual in adult hood because life makes our auras muddy.After the reading I never asked her why she kept saying I had mental health issues, and sadly I was put off by her insistence, so I never returned nor recommended her to anyone. "Diagnosis" should be left to the medical professionals.

I started to develop some of these abilities a few years ago, then stress of a family member dying got in the way, I'm slowly getting back some of them now. I've energy healing and probably it's my strongest ability, I do hear fragments of the spirit world and astral projection, I got to a point where I could control it, but I've also experienced teleportation, I've woken in a car one time and a house in another.
