Young player Kion Etete has sent a heartfelt message to Tottenham Hotspur after completing a permanent transfer to Cardiff City this summer. The forward leaves Spurs just three years after joining the Notts County club.

The 20-year-old Etete failed to make a single first-team appearance with the likes of Troy Parrott and Dane Scarlett considered ahead of him. He did not play, despite scoring 10 goals in 26 games for Tottenham's under-21 team.

The striker left after three years - in which he was loaned out to Northampton and Cheltenham - to join Cardiff. He signed a three-year contract with Steve Morison's champion club, costing him a six-figure fee.

After the move, Etete took to Instagram to thank Tottenham. He went out of his way to send a message to the club's staff for his commitment and to try to improve him as a player after his move to Wales.

With no space at Spurs, Etete had to leave Tottenham. Not least because Harry Kane is blocking the way for any first-team striker involvement. It also saw Parrott and Scarlett on loan, joining Preston and Portsmouth.

Etete now 20, a move to Cardiff is brilliant for a young athlete who has a lot to offer football, and now he will focus on breaking into the starting lineup.

Etete will likely start at the bank. But it's a long season and Cardiff needed a striker. So, in a short time, he could be in Cardiff's starting lineup.

In your opinion, was it unfair for Kion Etete not to have a chance at Tottenham's first team? Yes or No?
