THIS is THE TMT I know & love so much ! When they do pop, soul & Doo Wop, there is just no one better. When they get into jazz, vocalese, & scat, I get lost . I loved the " Brasil" album, one was penned by the Great, GREAT, Rod Temperton, with Stevie Wonder helping out. ----Janis on lead. 76 y/o

This song was originally recorded by Michael Jackson for his Thriller album in 1982.

Unfortunately the song was never released.

So he gave the song to The Manhattan Transfer in 1983!

The spice of life is in all of the variety
Some of a faithful life seek out piety
Some of wayward life seek sobriety
Some searching variety face anxiety
Variety is the spice of life in society

Again a Rod Temperton song...quality as ever..songs that hold up from the beginning to the end...and a surprising Stevie Wonder harmonica who has to jump on the Rod Temperton bandwagon and come up with a rythmicaly and melodicaly solo that really fits well....but ok ..Stevie Wonder..they knew who to ask!!

J'adore cette chanson ! Encore une chanson de mon enfance !
La super zok des années 80 !
Super chanson mélodieuse, qui met de bonne chanson !

Should've been a bigger hit. #40 for 2 weeks on 11/5/83.

Manhattan Transfer vocal harmonies are originally theirs, it's not for other groups to copy. They can't tho'

Listen closely and you'll hear in this track a lot of Michael Jackson's "Baby Be Mine". Rod Temperton was writer for both songs. Always recycle. Seriously though, both are excellent songs.
