Student loan forgiveness programs undergoing changes

President Trump signed an executive order earlier this year that places regulations and restrictions on the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program, which could severely limit who qualifies for student loan forgiveness.

My feeling about Student loans is it should be the same idea as SSA, but instead of pay in first. Pay it back or the program goes broke and is canceled. No more funding period.

I don't understand the 10 year forgiveness? All my student loans are paid off in 10 years, so they are allowed to pay way less than the regular monthly loan payment so after 10 years it is forgiven?

Could also make the colleges co-sign the loan. If there teachers suk and you can't get a job the college pays off the loan.

The interest need to be at lower rates for low paying job where they incurred the same amount of debt as a higher paying job. If this lady thinks that nursing is a low paying job she needs to do her research. Most nurses start at 70 K. To me thats not low paying.

These loans are push on people without knowing ramifications, such as these loans need to pay back. Most of the people that are being excluded or "illegal " with the new law sounds like they shouldn't have been included to start with. People need to be aware before they sign up for these loans, they need to be paid back. This is only part of the problem. Educate the public, loads need to be paid back and the amount of debt they are signing up for if they don't pay them back.

Good because just because people have student loans doesn’t mean they actually graduated or are using the degree to make the world a better place. Work full time and go to school part time on your own dime.
