Note that you don't need rebar ties to be 'strong', the purpose of the ties is to keep the rebar in position until you pour concrete. After that they serve no structural purpose at all.

That's a saddle tie, but your technique is wrong. A rodbuster would do 4 or 5 ties to your 1.

That’s a saddle…. I guess he’s a wire tier, always heard of them, but never met one… There’s a huge difference between a wire tier and a Rodbuster. If you wanna learn the right way learn from a RODBUSTER!! First lesson never put a saddle on mat Steele unless it’s to force 2 bars together.
