⚙️ EPISODE 244: So many patterns are possible with wood veneer. But it’s been said that the most beautiful designs reflect things found in nature. So let’s virtually go to the ocean shore together and make a Sand Dollar Sunburst! In this episode I show you the process, and would you believe we don’t even use a veneer saw? Instead we’ll rely on a homemade shooting board for crisp accuracy. By the end of this one you’ll be digging out the beach chair! (Closed captions)

That is a great design. Maybe a new veneer class coming?

What an excellent video! On the 10th slice if you have to trim a sliver off one side to make it fit that will likely mean there will be a gap on the other side when you fit it to complete the pie. How would you cover that gap then?

Hey Tom the timing for this couldn’t have been better! Earlier today I had just finished the Contemporary Endtable course and was planning to watch one of the sessions you did on a compass rose and I think one other one on the sequencing of the pieces. You covered it here with the added bonus of this cool technique. I just went through my veneer stock and found a few good candidates (unfortunately not quite enough pieces). Anyway I’ll be getting some more veneer soon since I’m definitely trying this. Thx again. (Great course btw)
