Kevin O’Leary is infamous for his royalty and debt deals on Shark Tank that nobody takes. Despite most entrepreneurs opting to go for Mark and Lori, I think Kevin is actually one of the most favorable sharks on the show and by far the most underrated. Not only is Kevin the second richest regular shark on the show at $400 million, but he was the only other shark aside from Mark Cuban to sell his company for billions. Also, the only reason Kevin is not a billionaire today is that he has chosen to focus on wealth preservation as opposed to growth. It wasn’t always easy for Kevin though. As a kid, his biological father passed away early on and Kevin was forced to move across Africa and Asia with his stepfather. Kevin also had very little help when it came to growing his business SoftKey, and he had to figure everything out through trial and error. This video explains the story of Kevin O’Leary and how he became Mr. Wonderful.

Kevin O’Leary is actually my favorite Shark. I love this guy. He gets business and he’s definitely someone to follow.

Kevin is one of my favorite sharks. His reputation as the nastiest shark is unfairly earned, he is just honest. Deep down he seems like a good guy. Barbra is probably my least favorite shark because she is the only one that openly mocks people and insults them for no reason. She comes off worse than Mr wonderful to me.

He’s nothing like his reputation. You can tell he’s genuinely very kind and has great empathy. He has done interviews with people that many would think aren’t qualified to interview someone of his stature. I didn’t realize he lost his dad but that helps explain his emotion when others have discussed loss.

I think he is underrated, he allows people a lifeline they would never have under other circumstances just to give them security in the tank to negotiate additionally he really sees the hearts of entrepreneurs more that he lets on that's why he offers what he does. Top 1 number 1 underrated shark!

In the show I think Kevin is the one that's been portrayed as most sympathetic to tragic stories. He's always wiping a tear from his face but quickly comes back down to reality

Hes the best shark. Everyone gives him slack but look behind the fact he doesn’t sugar coat and he knows what he’s talking about 90% of the time

I get so angry when I hear wealthy people say they aren’t leaving anything to their children.

I think Kevin's views on wealth is the healthiest approach. There's less greed and more reticence. If I have that kind of money, I would not risk that wealth if I'm already set for life. We'll all die anyway so why be stressed out about earning more than what you can spend in a lifetime? This is definitely what my principles on money would be moving forward. Great take on Mr. Wonderful!

I like Mr. Wonderful and he often offers the entrepreneurs the best deals. He has garnered a reputation of being a cold-hearted "in it for himself" shark but ironically they all are and usually the others are seeking even greedier deals for themselves.

Kevin and the others too often get too caught up on present sales and how the fledgling company is doing right now. If the company was smoking it there would be no reason for the entrepreneurs to be on Shark Tank. I am a business consultant, working with start-ups and entrepreneurs who only have a concept on paper, certainly no measurable revenues. These are the folks who actually need investors like the Sharks and are opportunities that could develop into $billion businesses. But the Sharks rarely, if ever, are interested in getting into the trenches and will say "it is too early for me, and for that reason I am out." I am trying to help such a start-up company right now which holds patents on water treatment technology...right, clean water is not important, er, right?

Kevin is my favorite, he is honest and fair in most cases. The other sharks 🦈 are actually sharks with a smile but take a lot from business owners. They smile and take more ownership of someone else’s hard earned sweat equity. Kevin offers loans sometimes with a small royalty. He is very intelligent and well spoken, his reputation is not earned. He is also dyslexic, but he views this as an advantage.

Just an FYI at 8:39 the logo used is for Gore Associates manufacturers of PTFE products and inventor of Gore-Tex, that is a different company than the private equity company, Gores Technology Group

Because of his mom. Nothing self made. Later on branch into other things. Primarily started because of his mom. Even Mark Cuban on shark tank mentioned Kevin doesn't understand the value of hard work, which is not what I expected coming from another shark.
