India Ink is a pigment ink and is much more permanent and lightfast than dye ink. It used to be used in ‘fraud proof pens’ which would stop checks being “washed” with water or bleach. That’s it’s USP, it’s permanence.😊

2024 comment: I just decided to get out my set of 12 Dr. PH Martin's Bombay India Inks set. I had barely touched them since I bought them 2 or more years ago. They really are beautiful colors. I swatched them and then played around with them using my glass dip pen. I enjoyed the experience, but can I find any sort of regular use for them? I had also thought of just selling them if I'm not really going to properly use them. I simply hate to let good art supplies languish unused in a drawer. I really do love watercolors though for all the ways they react and blend and glaze. I find myself always comparing so many coloring supplies to how watercolor behaves because I love it so much. I'm working on clearing out things, art supplies included, that are just not getting used. Some art supplies I will give away, but I'll likely sell the more expensive supplies that have had little use. Fortunately art supplies in good shape sell very well online. Thanks! 😊

That was delightful! I’m new to inks & have become discouraged but this project plus all your ideas has inspired me to try again. Thanks!

I make watercolor backgrounds to keep in my stash. Often my backgrounds that look kind of icky to me make great die cut images.

Cute cards. Looks like a fun, messy technique.

Oh, wait to try it! I don’t have inks, but I have lots of watercolors to try.

That background almost has a metallic look with the salt. That fussy cutting the trees, wow you did well! Very pretty cards.

Very intrigued by the use of the different inks! They make beautiful backgrounds. I have some fountain pen inks in my stash and will experiment with it

Great idea... can you tell me what type of instrument you used to write with please? It looks like a clear handle on it. Thanks! Sandi 🇨🇦
