Why I'm Finally Embracing Ploppable RICO in Cities Skylines | Clearwater County 60

Hello everyone and welcome back to Clearwater County! While Stefanik Development Co. wanted to work with Target to get its store opened, a significant lack of employees in Clearwater County has caused Target to pump the breaks on the project. Part of this is caused by a problem in our educational pipeline, part of this is caused by aa lack of residential. While resolving this, we'll discover the problem with some of our grown-in neighborhoods and it'll finally push me to embrace RICO once and for all!

Amazing how we're at the point where the character of these towns has completely changed within the series. Shorewood has gone from a sleepy factory town to a crowded suburb of VanBuren in no time

Plopping is the best. It's really great to use zoning to quickly expand and then come back to plop assets by hand when deep detailing each neighborhood. I'm glad you've been doing detailing episodes of CC revisiting previously completed areas. That really shows that cities evolve over time which is super cool and the way I usually like to build.

This is without a doubt my favorite cities series on YouTube. I am genuinely excited whenever a new one drops. Great job and can’t wait for next one.

I just want to point out that I choked on my snack when you said “we’ll butt Whole Foods up against the parking”. 😂

Phil. Great job on the new school. One need I think you could incorporate is a childcare center in front of the parking lot. My high school had a daycare program for the community would be useful for the working families in Otter Lake at the aggregate mine and a child education program for the students. Also Bike path to the school?

I imagine that Shorewood would become a very wealthy suburban community to live in. It has space for larger homes, a quieter downtown, and is a short drive to Van Buren and Ashland

Those new apartments you could put a ferry stop that sends it to Van Buren. And maybe a fancy bus stop near that gas station.

I think you should add a pedestrian bridge I think it would be a unique thing for the community and as a non driver it would definitely be something that I would love,

I know the US is very very much in love with their cars but considering there's literally a residential neighborhood right across the street it would probably be something that people in that neighborhood would love

Yes! You finally resolved the waterfront in Shorewood. I understand the original reasoning behind the auto oriented commercial zoning, because of the proximity to the highway. But it made no sense whatsoever and made the entire city and the coastline in particular look terrible.

Glad to see the changes in the right direction. I'm also so glad to finally see more of plopping in CWC. It's such a detailed project that it deserves your input as to what buildings are placed and where. Would gladly see you tear down more blocks.

Last but not least - looking forward to the new highway project leading to Van Buuren, given you just cut them off from that side.

I'll be honest, I was waiting for a new video just since the last one dropped. Love your content! Watching from Lviv, Ukraine

Another great episode Phil! Hope you are not being too hard on yourself on you prior mistakes in your builds. Fighting the games systems to make good looking enviornments is a hard task.

More population! The government offices are disproportionately sucking up ALL the workers of the entire county unless you add realistic numbers of houses to the realistic number of office workers. This means you need tens of thousands more people! (Or just drop the government job numbers for the purposes of the simulation)

6:50 you demolished half the block, but left the abandoned building that was next to the demolition intact
and that abandoned building is causing problems for the entire block with the value of the land

In the middle the awkward lot instead the fences forming a random pattern, you could use the fencing to create a small communal space with a gazebo, fire pit or just some benches and trees

If you are going to reduce the main road through shore wood to a 2 lane collector you need to bypass shore wood altogether. You should build a bypass road starting near the golf corse and running parallel to the rail facility on the side of the mountain and tie it into the highway with an interchange just past the one at the school.this would kee frieght traffic out of the town and help solve goods problems in the capital.

I love the improvements you've made, CPP, and that this episode is an hour long! The longer episodes are my favorite ones. The parking lots behind the restaurants which are along the main strip have the accessible parking away from the building, could you change that please? Take care and see you soon! Looking forward to VB 100!

@ 59:52 Freight traffic is using the alley because they need to turn around to get to the commercial buildings. After you changed the road to one with a median, they can no longer turn across it to reach their destination. Example: Truck is traveling down the westbound lane, try to reach a building on the eastbound lane.

Well deserved mention for PlannerPete.
I reached out in Discord to him and complimented him with all the good usefull and spot on comments he gives.

Also great video. Good to go back to some area's and fine tune it.
All changes make a ton of sense when and how you explain it.
Maybe do some more of this stuff in a live stream. Would definitely watch it.

Hey Phil, I noticed you didn't (probably forgot) to add a fence behind the football field, which is right next to the highway. btw, love the videos, keep up the great work!
