On Saturday, September 7th, 2024, Jason Damron, aka Kankennon, aka The Fallout Storyteller, passed away from Stage 4 Adrenal Cancer. Back in 2021, I went on a limb and contacted Jason. I was planning on proposing to my then girlfriend on a trip we were taking to Chernobyl. Both of us being not only Fallout fans, but Shoddycast Storyteller fans. I thought it would be awesome to have something for the event. Not only did Jason respond, but he did a little piece for me talking about my gf and I as the Storyteller. After proposing, and her saying yes. I played the voice clip to her and she had one of the biggest smiles I have ever seen. We then went on in 2023 to get married in Goodsprings on Great War day at the Saloon. To which I wrote again to Jason to tell him of the news. He was an absolute treasure, and all I can say is thank you for everything Jason. You will not be forgotten. #MakeJasonCanon

My wife and I would binge the Storyteller while waiting for Fallout 4…Jason was a staple in our household during dishwashing and food prep and just to chill out. My wife died in 2018….i believe I speak for both of us when I say Jason was taken too soon and I, personally, feel like another piece of my wife and myself’s life has gone away. RIP Jason….you will be deeply missed, but you won’t soon be forgotten. Until we meet again, friend.

If Bethesda doesn’t include a tribute to him in every future Fallout game they deserve nothing from us again. He was one of the first guys I watched on YouTube and is definitely the reason I started developing my own game. He made the game feel more alive and made it so easy to fall in love with.
