Should You Pull Jiaoqiou, Sparkle or SKIP? | Honkai Star Rail

In this video, Iyo breaks down his early impressions & thoughts on whether or not players Should Pull for Jiaoqiu, Sparkle, or Skip in Honkai Star Rail. Honkai: Star Rail is coming to the end of v2.4 and the current banner character is Yunli, a powerful physical destruction unit that focuses on counterattack playstyle. Jiaoqiu & Sparkle, are next and both characters have a lot that can be said for or against them. For F2P, this choice is a lot more important due to the new cast of characters coming in the future. Yunli is a Physical Destruction Character who focuses on dealing massive damage with her ultimate's counterattacks. Jiaoqiu is a Fire Nihility Character that debuffs enemies with Ashen Roast, and is able to assist Acheron to get more stacks for her ultimate, as well as other team archetypes currently in the game.

Only thing I disagree with in this video is that I don’t recommend picking up Bronya from the standard. You should pick up the most valuable standard dps in the game: Himeko :) (Her rise has been great to see)

the point you are missing is both sparkle and bronya enable atack boots on your main dps and sparkle is a sp positive support while bronya is sp negative or neutral at best. And sparkle's crit dmg buff is much stronger than bronya's

I love Sparkle and I don't regret pulling her at all since I hyper invested in DHIL (by light spender standards) and actually got him to E2. The advance forward isn't her main selling point for me; it's the skill point recovery. It lets me go full bore with DHIL and makes it easier for Tingyun to keep her buff up on him. I've had times where I was able to unleash 2 DHIL ultimates (and like 4 fully enhanced basics) before the enemy could even take a turn.

But I know you don't like DHIL. :)

15:13 disagree. Nobody fills Jingyuan’s gaps better than sparkle. Nobody else allows Jingyuan to get 10 stacks without fail AND buffs LL. other harmony units may do one or the other, but none can do both.

I feel that sparkle’s one support of Dan Heng IL will eventually expand. In my opinion the true potential of sparkle has not been realized. Robin for fua, Run Mei for break, and Bronya for hyper. But a dual dps meta may benefit sparkle way more I feel.

I hope you know saying Sparkle isn't worth it, simply cuz Hyper carry isn't meta atm. Is no different than the ppl who say Silver wolf isn't worth it, since a few new units can imprint their element. Just like i don't agree that has lowered Silver Wolf's value, i also don't agree Sparkle's value has dropped either. She is the queen of Hypercarry, and singlehandedly makes E2 Acheron extremely tempting. The second the next crit dps releases, she'll be right back at the top... 🤷

love to hear it, my plan as a f2p looking good, get JQ, be able to run JQ, pela, acheron, galla, and then my dot team with Kafka, BS, RM and HH can thrive on its own and I do not have to use dotcheron anymore. Man I want dhil and Jingliu to get some W's though... mine are build insanely and so is my Bronya, but damn do they not feel as good as Acheron, dot, and FF break teams... but I love dhil. idk, whatever, I just hate Robin's design and cannot be bothered to pull her, I am debating whether to vertically invest in my dhil. mine is E0S0 rn, and having no sparkle can be tough frfr but I manage, I feel like I could at least get his lc on rerun and then maybe E2, idk man you understand the f2p struggles, I dunno lol

Im not so sure myself if its worth for me to pick jiaoqiu since i plan on saving for both lingsha and feixiao, yes i do have an acheron team (acheron, fu xuan, silver wolf, pela) but from what the numbers are showing theres not much of a difference so i personally will skip and im gonna start focusing on building a team for feixiao

Earlier when Sparkle was announced for her rerun, I was looking to pull for her with the mindset that having too many harmony units isn't a bad thing, but upon researching, I've learned that she wouldn't necessarily fit in any of my current set-up as a new player. I only have two functioning teams and they are boothill and firefly's team. I was debating with myself that having sparkle would set me up to have a future DHIL, but eventually decided to go against pulling her since I'd have to rely on any future DPS or the next rerun of DHIL to make my current sparkle investment worth it. Decided to wait for Lingsha for my FF team to split Gallagher and Lingsha on Abundance duty on FF and Boothill team. Might pull for Feixiao too since I have Robin, but I don't have Aventurine and Topaz so its still debatable whether I should get her.

I like your Iyo takes! I feel like i end up agreeing with most Iyo takes. It was nice to know your opinions as i feel like im on the fence for both sparkle and fox dude. I have acheron and basically im at a point where acheron is E0S1, im using E0S0 FuXuan, E0S0 BS, and E0S1 Ruan mei. Despite the lack of E2 Acheron im doing well enough to clear content. Not much of a fan of fox dude (great personality but wish hes design was more unique) so I've been planning not to pull him. Though i feel tempted because of how fast the stacks for acheron are gained i also dont want to bench black swan (was my first 5 star in the game when i joined. I had little knowledge of teams etc)

I do feel Sparkle was a bit overrated back in her first banner. New meta we're heading doesn't favor her and it's been realized that Robin is the best harmony unit for lower cycle clears. Bronya has been picking up lately because her 100% av forward is more useful than just a mere 50% av forward. Sparkle offers sp comfortability but a lot of times you don't need the extra sp especially with units like Aventurine and Gallagher who are super sp positive. Even if you have to basic atk with Bronya to alleviate sp economy, it's still more energy and extra turn.

In a turn based game, getting more turns is always better which is why Robin's ult is busted because giving all your team an extra turn is huge. -1 spd Bronya is still really strong because it doubles your dps turn and it works really well with Robin.
