I think it impossible to talk about Depeche Mode without this song.

I have completely forgotten how much this record was important.. I was so concentrated on Delta Machine and Spirit and I got into the habit of celebrating Delta Machine's quality but now that I'm back on Songs of Faith and Devotion, I'm almost taken aback and brought to reality : recent albums can't compete with old real Depeche Mode classical albums. Listening and feeling Walking in my shoes with its original substance give the right to say it's priceless and unforgettable.

The utter shock and awe of peak Gore/Wilder. It was a short peak but it remains utterly haunting in its intensity.

This alum was definitely not my mom's favorite, to be honest she had a shelf full of Billy Joel and Pink Floyd that she probably wanted to listen to more. But I insisted she played this one, over and over, because as a kid I absolutely adored how " you'll stumble in my footsteps" rolled out through her throat and the enthusiasm she'd put in every rendition of the song.
She'd would be in the mood for music as we cleaned and baked, and when it wasn't the radio it was me pulling out the puppy eyes to get her to play it again. I never got to tell her why, she probably thought I was just a weird little kid.

I've been listening through this album a lot recently for nostalgia, I guess time has given me a brand new appreciation for all these songs.

This song means a lot for me. At that time I was deep in depression. Well today I´m OK. I listen to it from time to time just to remind me that I there´s always hope. Ho great song anyway, maybe my favourite DM album :)

GRAN PRODUCCIÓN Y GRAN SONIDO DE UNA MAGNÍFICA CANCIÓN!!!!

In my imagination this album lives next door to U2's Achtung Baby and, to a lesser extent, Duran Duran's 'wedding' album. Big eighties bands suddenly taking a bit of a creative left turn in the new decade and being taken a bit more seriously by the critics. And making terrific music at the same time, of course.

A real masterpiece. Nothing to do with other crap albums without Alan.. Perhaps Ultra was not a bad album, but after..
