"When Love & Hate Collide" is a power ballad by English rock band Def Leppard from their 1995 greatest hits album Vault, written by Joe Elliott and Rick Savage. It was originally written and demoed for Adrenalize, but not finalized until 1995 for its inclusion on Vault. The demo version is much more heavily produced in the signature style of Hysteria and Adrenalize, and the final version is more stripped down, supposedly toward the style of the following studio album Slang. The original demo version contains the final recorded guitar solo by late original guitarist Steve Clark. "When Love & Hate Collide" became one of their most successful singles in their homeland, where it reached number two in the UK Singles Charts, but it failed to make a significant impact on the US charts, reaching number 58 on the Billboard Hot 100. It did, however, become a top 10 hit in Canada, climbing to number six on the RPM Top Singles chart. The song also reached the top spot in Ireland.

In 2008, the song was re-recorded this time with featured vocals of American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift. The original version was re-released as a digital download on 12 February 2013.

🙋🏼 ABOUT ME: My name is Alyona Yarushina, or Aly. I was born in Russia, and I am a singer, a musician,
I play the piano and do many arrangements myself, I’m in love with 80s and 90s rock. In Russia, I played with several bands. One of them is the best Led Zeppelin tribute band in Russia called "Plumbum Dreams".  The other one is called "Back from the USSR", where we played Beatles songs in my own arrangements. We played in Liverpool, England almost every year on the Beatles week fest.  My dad, Valeriy Yarushin is my bass player in this band. He's a legend of Russian folk-rock and his band “Ariel” was most popular in the 70s and still is now.  I learned a lot from him.
In 2004, I won the “International Hopes of Europe” competition in Sochi, Russia along with the “Grand Prix” prize for singing I Have Nothing by Whitney Houston.

During my career, I had the opportunity to perform with great artists such as Chick Corea, Chris Slade (AC/DC drummer), Ryan Roxie (Alice Cooper guitarist), Innes Sibun (Robert Plant's guitarist), David Campbell (musical producer and arranger of Muse and Adele), Brian Tichy (drummer for Whitesnake, Billy Idol, Foreigner, Ozzy Osborne), Hal Bruce and others.
I like a lot of different song styles like rock, pop and jazz. I love classic rock.Bands like Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Boston, Oasis, Jeff Buckley, Vixen, Janis Joplin, Aerosmith, Guns'n'Roses, Bon Jovi, Scorpions, Winger, Skid Row, Sandy Saraya and others.

For some of my covers I do full MIDI instrumentals by myself using an M-Audio Oxygen MIDI keyboard. I also do all the back vocals & mixing and mastering by myself using Logic Pro.

"Real Women Ride Harleys" That's a pic I would like to see. You decked out in full leather gear with the wind blowing freely in your hair as you smile from ear to ear! I just spoke with Joe Elliot. He approves! :) Aly, Def Leppard was the soundtrack of my life in the 80s and 90s. Pyromania, Hysteria and Adrenalize 3 of the best complete and well produced albums ever. Like you said this was supposed to be on Adrenalize but wasn't finished. This has the sound and feel of "Have You Ever Needed Someone So Bad". Another I would like to hear your take on. Any Def Leppard ballad you would kill I'm sure! I tell you this Aly, you and I share quite a bit of the same interests from all over the musical spectrum! Its amazing how you are able to change your tone with every different singer you cover. This one was truly remarkable. A little raspiness much like Elliot has. Thank you little lady for all your hard work that you do for us all.
