Dr Harsha Sarawgi (AIR 1827) | Private Medical College to NEET PG | Inspiration for #NEET Aspirants

"7 years ago, in 2015 when the NEET UG exam happened I couldn’t perform too well and I couldn’t get a government seat for MBBS. I ended up joining an esteemed private medical college.
I was told 7 years back by a renowned teacher that if you are doing UG from a private medical college you cannot expect to get a government seat for post-graduation. I was shattered because I knew I couldn’t spend so much money for my post-grad as medical education is extremely expensive.
I just had one vision in mind and that was to secure a seat in Dermatology at a government medical college for my post-graduation.
I gave in all the effort and HARDWORK it could take me to get me there. I used to wake up at 4.00 am, study up till 9.00 am and then head for the classes at college and again come back and study till late at night.
About NEET PG 2021 - the exam I had been preparing for 6 years.
I had been studying for it for a very long and was quite saturated.
I was well prepared but my exam got postponed twice just a few days before the exam day and that took a toll on my mental health. I was depressed and shattered. But I know I couldn’t give up when my biggest dream was so close. I gathered all the strength I had and started preparing for the exam one last time.
I just gave my 100%. I wanted to never have anything to regret about. And I gave the exam in I best way I could.
When my results came out, I was awestruck. I got a rank of 1827. Rank 1827 out of about 2 lac doctors who had given the exam.
No one ever in my UG Medical college ever got such an amazing rank.
I was so proud. That night I slept peacefully because I had made myself proud. I just did what I had dreamt of.
Today, I’m working as a First Year Resident at Government Medical College, Kolkata. Not only did I get MD in Dermatology at a government hospital but also in my home state and one of India’s most esteemed institutions. ❤️
Dreams do come true.
