Beyond our selection of authentic salts from around the globe, SaltWorks commitment to delicious, pure, natural salt extends further, to producing our own handcrafted lines of rich & savory, all-naturally infused and cold-smoked salt varieties. The result of our continual quest for the best, most flavorful salts possible, SaltWorks exclusive Fusion® flavoring process & cold-smoking techniques were born. Founders Mark Zoske and Naomi Novotny share the story of how SaltWorks went from a hobby to an on-line store to a company employing more than 75 people and producing over a hundred different of varieties of sea salt.

Founded in 2001, and based near Seattle, in Woodinville, WA, SaltWorks supplies premium-grade specialty salts to salt enthusiasts around the world. From culinary, gourmet salts to therapeutic salts for the bath, our customers range from individuals who order by the jar, to manufacturers, restaurants, retail stores, and spice companies who order by the pallet, truckload, and ocean container.

Family owned & operated, SaltWorks was established in 2001 when Mark Zoske, CEO, and Naomi Novotny, President, learned about the variety and benefits of authentic, unrefined specialty sea salt, and were quickly surprised by how difficult these quality salts were to find and purchase. With consumers becoming more aware of all-natural products and remedies, the couple was convinced that others must be concerned about what was in their salt shakers, too. To close this gap, they decided to start a website, SaltWorks, where they could sell these unique, mineral-rich salt varieties. Mark and Naomi reached out to suppliers worldwide to source the highest quality mineral salts and sea salts they could find. SaltWorks would become the first gourmet salt company in the US.
