When Unity first released I was loving the game so much, but so many people were complaining about it. I was really confused and thought maybe it was me. After all this time I’m so happy Unity is getting the love it deserves. It was the last great AC game in my eyes.

It's not just how flashy the animations are it all comes down to when you're holding your controller or keyboard. How much control you have over your movement is what's required, because 50% of the time the character will jump in a place you didn't want to jump.

Side note: It’s kinda annoying how the voice actors in these games always activate their vocal cords when recording the parkour/combat grunting sounds. Wouldn’t it sound more realistic to have sharp exhales and stuff? No one says stuff like “HYAH!” irl outside of people doing performative martial arts.

How did we went from smooth fluid seamless animations (AC3 - Syndicate) to kinda robotic animations? The only thing i don't like about shadow's parkour is the robotic animations

Nothing compares to Unity and it's parkour and especially the ambition behind the game, the game is 11 years old and still looks and plays fantastic. Ubisoft outdid themselves in 2014. Oh and Shadows is just another ac game this year.

In my opinion, Assassin's Creed Unity stood out with its impressive graphics fidelity, along with its refined parkour mechanics and realistic game physics, making it a standout entry in the series.

So many people believe that shadows parkour is better. ITS NOT YALL, it is the same engine as AC Origin till mirage with a few tweaks. No matter how it's tweaked or getting modded it will always feel STIFF because of that engine. Ubisoft should've just abandon this system and start a more fluid one (like unity). The delay between jump in this engine is the most noticeable and the worst example.

In case you wonder I never hate AC Story, I own the game that I mentioned. Even Valhalla was my favorite RPG style game and I spent a countless hours on that thing.

I think its hard to compare a game that is not even out yet and all we saw from parkour are 5 nonconnected clips to a game that we had over 10 years to learn all the mechanics of

I’ve been saying they should integrate the dodge button into the “RPG” style parkour for years, I’m glad they finally got to it. They should’ve gone even further and made the dodge button the dedicated side eject button when climbing on walls.

Ok so there are parts I like and don’t like. So first, as someone mentioned that ninja girl can roll over obstacles and not lose momentum. I agree this is a good. But unity uses the environment better. Like how you can attach yourself into a wall and do a wall kill. Now I hope the flips don’t take too long but I do like them. In fact, I like the flips and rolls a lot. But unity still has better environment interactions. And now I actually agree with ninja girl having to climb up the rope, considering she’s breaking in castles. Cuz of course the weight rope is best but it’s realistic that she has to manually climb up her rope. Finally I like the ninja squat she does when on the rooftop.

Ac shadow jumping over obstacle doesn't make you losing momentum you still keep your running speed.. And i like it

Shadows looks like it has actual physics, unity has characters zipping around crazily 0:19 wtf break all immersion with that jump from unity

Look ik rn its the norm to hate on ubisoft, and trust me i do, but imma keep it real shadows is the best LOOKING parkour in the series thus far. Now whether or not its controls feel good remains to be seen but as much as i wanna hate on this game, it looks sick

Ngl with the Mirage mod from Jintohaku, it could be really good... if the city design are as good as Mirage, otherwise it's Syndicate all over again
