The golden era of the Ventures circa early 60-70s. Albeit even today 2020 the band still exists with the new generations of Ventures. Leon Taylor still the member of the original band (Mel Taylors son). Bob, Nokie, Mel RIP.

Great tune, well played but just a little to quick to appreciate. My school band played Ventures music on stage in the school assembly hall when we were 15. This was 1968. Geoff, base player.. Passed away. Great guy, sat next to him in school. They never really made it. Good band just the same!

I had the Ventures 1st album with this song at age 12 and later I heard the Bill Justice version on the radio and thought the DJ was playing the Bill Justice version at the wrong speed. LOL

In the early 60's Steve Farley ( lead ) Butch Mays ( rhythm ), Joe Kessel ( bass ) and me, Rick Z. ( drums ) were practically a cover band of the Ventures . Known as the Perogatives in St.Albans, West Virginia . I am the only surviving member . Miss them dearly . Even performed on live T V twice on WCHS broadcasts of Record Hop . Steve and I are 1st cousins .
