Ever buy a lolita dress only to have it arrive with stains? Fear not, there is still a *chance* it could come out - you just have to be willing to baby it for a bit. I bought this dress with the knowledge that it was heavily stained and the assumption they wouldn't come out. I was actually planning on turning it into an overdress! But shockingly, the stains actually lifted! Now I have an amazing dress that I didn't need to alter at all ^-^

Hi! I'm The Stitchess! I'm an interdisciplinary artist and seamstress. I started sewing when I was 8 and loved it so much I made it the focus of my study in college. After a lifetime of battling severe mental health issues - I found healing in the radical softness and Japanese kawaii communities. As much as I love fashion and clothing, I also think it's important to consider how and where clothing is made. I went fast fashion free at the start of 2019 to voice my concerns over the rapid consumerism gripping the garment industry. By no means am I perfect, but I think it's important to show that change is a process. I believe it is always important to strive to be better, even if perfection is unattainable. Thank you so much for letting me share my art and process with you. I hope we can all grow together!

I have mixed feelings on peignoirs in lolita coords because they often hang sort of strangely and obscure the shape/print, but your tucking it into the belt so it had a little window of unobscured dress was genius! And the sleeves on it are so cute.

Oh my gosh I'm so happy to have found this! I was the seller and seeing you bring life back into this dress is so exciting lol- thank god the stains came out. It looks fantastic on you and all of your coords were super cute!!

I think the peignoir hate came about because it was so overused in coordinates for a while, and people tried adding it to their coordinates to be trendy not really thinking about whether or not that coord would even call for one.

Honestly though, nothing hits like sticking a jsk with a "dry clean only" label in the washer and having it not run. Even when I've washed an item multiple times I still think this time is gonna be the time it runs.

I had to spot clean AP's Promenade de Paris jsk which had 3 year old mystery stains on it and used the multiple application of oxyclean to great success.

Congratulations on your first brand dress! $50 is a steal and I'm really glad it worked out for you because 2008 Baby is such a great print era.

Omg I was debating on this dress and I’m so glad you got it instead because after watching this video I would’ve made it worse! I’m so glad you managed to get them out and you made this video! Lolita’s need to watch this as a PSA “don’t leave stains on your dress and never dry them with stains!” The amount of badly stained dresses is kinda sad. Also this gives me such a old school sweet vibe which is my favorite look! And yes bring the Mary Janes with sweet back!

Omg I'm usually part of the anti-pengnoir brigade (not really lol, its just not my taste) but I love that coord so so much!!! This print and this dress in general is so gorgeous. I love the lace!!!! I also really appreciate this vid cause it has made me second guess stained dresses that I categorized as irredeemable.

I swear some people wear lolita jsks to have food fights or dig ditches or something lol.
Like did someone throw a drink on the previous owners at a meetup or something 😂😂😭😭 ?!
Great job on it though:) a lot of old btssb dresses are a weird linen blend and the reds are vulnerable in pre 2012 dresses but you did an excellent job ^^ 👌👌🙌🙌

I applaud your relentless dedication to stain removal...I, too, have gone to war with many questionably stubborn spots on secondhand clothing...

B-but the peignoir look was my favourite! And tbh it looked the most at home with today's lolita trends from what I've seen. Then again, I am a fan of offbeat lolita.

Honestly, I have lost so many GOOD clothes to stains- this is such a good practice for folks trying to reduce their carbon footprint by buying fewer higher quality pieces!

I learned some new techniques on how to remove stains (honestly forgot about baking soda and vinegar. simple, and seems obvious, but---)

Also that last coord was so cute! Tying the waist bows around as a belt really helped with the silhouette, imo!

There are few things more satisfying than getting out pesky stains. Great job!

Great work! And also inspiring because it's rly exciting to see someone bringing a damaged dress to life. Your story/video on how you treated the stains on your BTSSB blouse actually inspired me to purchase a "fixer-upper", BTSSB blouse w detachable sleeves which turned out great after I worked on it. The "bodice" part used to be a peachy pink color, while the sleeves were tinted yellow, so I put it in a bleach bath to lift the colors entirely, and now I have a beautiful, staple white blouse thanks to you :)
Btw I'm rly loving the music you chose for this video.

I always rewatch this whenever I'm dealing with a stained JSK from LM. You are my guide. Thank you

Currently having this battle with a fruits parlor OP I got for cheap!! Literally same exact situation. Been through 2 owners before who never tried to remove the stains. Good news is they're almost out and the dress is pretty much wearable now!!
