PPO is much better than an HMO but with both I'd still be dealing with pre-authorization requirements (and possible denials and appeals) and with HMOs the requirement to have a designated pcp and required referrals for any other type of service. I've dealt with the HMO restrictions for 3 years under my obamacare plan but will be changing to the real freedom of OM and a supplement on April 1 (via my BB agent).

Stay with the original Medicare never ever sign up for Medicare advantage it is not user-friendly and it's a hell of a lot more expensive..
