President Obama came to Utah a few years back and landed at Hill AFB, which happened to be just a few miles from my house at the time. Air Force One flew right over our heads on final approach. Such an incredible plane.

Reminds me of when President Obama visited Copenhagen during the climate meeting in 2010. I lived right close by the airport at the time and had to leave for work much earlier than usual due to the many delays of public transportation that the presidential visit caused. It even said on the monitors of train stations that the delays were due to the American president XD

Sadly I never saw the motorcade or air force one myself that day because I had to go to work, but it was still quite the day, and a pretty fond memory as it’s not every day you’re in the same city as the US President (unless of course you’re American and living in Washington DC)

Whoever has been the President over the past few years or decades in my personal case, it’s amazing how much goes into/involved into the security around him. Not just the design of the limousine, but also the four security guards walking around the limousine too as an example.

Seeing Air Force One up close at Palm Beach International, its an absolutely awe striking plane. BTW that plane takes off super fast. The motorcade is intimidating between local law enforcement, and the secret service. You never really know which car has the president and you better leave a couple hours early if you're going anywhere because all highways and streets leading to wherever the president is going is closed off.

While most people thinks of the VC-25 as Air Force One, "Air Force One" is just the ATC call sign for any USAF aircraft carrying the President. When the President is not on board, the VC-25 usually have the call signs SAM-2800 or SAM-2900.

I saw zero evidence or information explaining how this motorcade was valued at billions of dollars. The aircraft are not part of the motorcade. The vehicles cannot possibly have a combined value approaching a billion dollars.

I’ve seen 3 presidential teams in motion. The first time I was visiting Washington in 1989, I was a block away from the south lawn of the White House. Marine One suddenly took off, and just as quickly, scrambled with 2 other identical choppers. President George Bush was on his way somewhere. A few years later, my partner and I decided to take advantage of a day trip to Washington offered by AAA. At that time we had visited D.C. 7 times, and since we’d be in the city less than 12 hours, didn’t bring a camera. We were approaching Lafayette Park and noticed many street closures. I said “Let’s wait a bit”. About 15 minutes later we noticed motorcycle police doing figure 8’s on the street several blocks up. We watched as they formed two rows, and started approaching us. The White House was behind us. We were standing on the park side walk closest to the street. We couldn’t believe it when president Bill Clinton turned the corner 10 feet from us. He smiled and waved, as did we, and no CAMERA! A year or so later, I’d heard Bill Clinton would be stopping in our town, on an election barn storm tour on a special train. I headed over to where I thought I’d have no problem parking, then panicked when it took an extra 30 minutes to park on a residential street. I got through the magnetometers no problem, saw the podium, and found a spot next to the fence close by where the train would stop. After a while we could see lights of the engine, and hear the horn. It was approaching quickly and started braking. It wasn’t the president, it was security and secret service. The young men and women jumped off the train and started handing out stacks of “CLINTON GORE” signs for people to wave. The presidents train arrived and he was pumped up. The crowd was enthusiastic. I wish we had seen Obama so my husband and I could thank him. Perhaps we still can.

I lived in DC and worked 5 blocks from the White House, I've seen every presidential motorcade from Reagan to Obama, I would always have a good view of the president when his car passed, it's cool to see but being used to seeing it, it can become annoying because they shut the block down, if you're on foot you can't cross the intersection, if you're driving you will sit in stand still traffic for 20 minutes at times

If we mismanaged our personal money like they do, we couldn’t finance a hotdog. Worse yet, most of them have degrees from the most prestigious colleges. Go figure.
