I'm used to hearing this with an American accent. I didn't expect to hear such a strong accent from that large a choir, speaks a lot for their precision

Why is no one talking about the conductor. His energy is so contagious

I wonder what animals would think if they heard a large choir of synchronized humans. Everyone’s voices twining together in harmony, the pure strength of it rumbling in your chest. Would they think they heard something unnatural? Eerie? Beautiful? Angelic even? Would they be hypnotized? Would they be scared? I’ve seen videos of animals listening to instruments. I wonder…

Props to the drummer holding back and perfectly placing every single hit with perfect volume

I think Stellenbosch needs to start hosting concerts soon, it'd really be of great honor to watch the choir performing live on stage🥺🕯🕯🕯🕯

Compliments to the sound engineer (and team if applicable). This came across beautifully like any professional recording. Great choir, great conductor, great choice of song, great recording tech.

Usually you do not hear the male voices in a mixed choir. But was really impressed by this choir. It is well balanced between male and female voices, and they fit together. Good work!

This isn't a performance, it's an experience.

These guys are marvelous.

Am just wondering what the song "Sound of Silence" will be like with them

This choir is one of the best in the world. All these smiling young faces, shining and full of hope, black, white, blonde, dark, men, women singing with one voice in harmony. Wearing necklaces that speak of unity in plurality. The fact that you could bring down the walls of Apartheid, exist peacefully, and produce joyous songs, brings tears to me every time. I love you guys! What a great world this would be if everyone followed this example, sang together and smiled. You are beautiful, every one of you. Your conductor and musical director and orchestra musicians are fine people. The songs are excellent and so well executed. Live forever, choir of Stellenbosch! You are magnificent. Thank you for being the light in darkness. Greetings from California! ❣❣❣

The smile from the conductor the way he's flowing with the choir, he's lovable

When this song first came out, the original, I was serving in the American military. It became a bit of a personal anthem when I was in. This version adds some joy, some triumph to it that I could have used back then. Thank you all.

Can we just talk about how they ALL nailed the runs EXACTLY- like I didn't hear one run that wasn't exactly like the original song

I love the subtle South African accent which comes through. Incredibly unique and special rendition of this song!

I was not expecting that. At the first note my jaw dropped. What these guys (especially the conductor) did was absolutely amazing. The average person has no idea how hard it is to get a large group to sound so great, and acapella on top of that. Such precision. All the singers are fantastic, but without the drive and determination of the conductor all that talent would go to waste. What an accomplishment!

I liked how they mimicked the original singer’s vocal cadence via different ranges chiming in at different times

The hand coordination when clapping is just purely awesome.

As a former chorister, I understand on a visceral level how technically difficult this must have been. Still pulled off with aplomb! Very well done!
