As a retired public school teacher, biology and art, my answer to that teacher's question is: Keep on; support those kiddos; set the bar high; and let your colleagues, administrators, and local board members know what you need. Meanwhile, shout out the accomplishments of your kiddos. Show their art at basketball games and concerts; submit science fair results to the local weekly newspaper.
