"How to with John Wilson" is a very special kind of documentary. I really love the way that voiceover and pictures are in ironic sync, working as a long joke. At the beginning the series looks like it is made like a simple homework, but anyone who tried to make and edit video will know how much work went into this. And it is a very fresh format too, which is something in 2021. Anti-selfie documentary but not about nature, some kind of a tutorial but not really a tutorial, sometimes it's a philosophical film. Good stuff :)

Nathan Fielder is a producer of this show. that should tell you enough that it's worth watching

Watching his show is like curling up with a good book, if the good book had the voice of John Wilson

I love How to With John Wilson but the format and narrative that CBS is limited to really distinctly clashes in this feature with the reason why How to With John Wilson is so effective. Most television drapes reality with fantasy, whereas John Wilson reveals the fantasy of reality.

I often think about his journals where he’s logged every single thing he’s done for every single day of his life. It’s impressive but stressful to think about.

I only meow am catching on and all I can say is the fact there are only three seasons & its because John chose to end it is just such a loud through a mega phone sound of what this guys hidden talents really are. He doesnt just look at humanity through a lens, its like he is the lens as the narrator describing every stain & scratch that obscures our vision or paints reality a little more off putting than perhaps what it really is. This is truly one of the most ultimate modern social experiments but the best part is we dont have to listen to endless interviews of people, and even though I wasnt in love with Johns voice initially its grown to be like a beautiful swan song I hear every time I see a new episode because of the needle point accurate raw insights he brings thru truly odd upside down screwball analogies or metaphors that fill in the lines & shapes with vibrant colors of what a often monotonous & also exciting hamster wheel that NYC/life can become for anyone one person.
