Excelllent description/definition. As a R.N. with brand new"premie niece, was concerned. She was a C-saecion at
?""37 weeks". I knew about immaturity of lungs in premies----was concerned about sendin herg home with extra monitoring, possiblility of SIDS, later. She did swallow a bit of amniotic old. at delivery. Mother had elevated liver enzymes-=--noted at aborut 27 weeks--hoping to get infant to 37 weeks for C-Section, 7/25/22. Came off Cpap 24hrs post delivery; on O2 cannula now, & has NG feeding tube--Thank you for yepur explanations. I truly appreciate your explanations. Well done! Thank you. (Had heard about the carseat test from a nurse friend who had 31 week old premiie, identical twin granddaughters, born 4 years ago. Both doing well). This is exactly why RNs "specialize!
